Dublin, Ireland (World Wide Gamble) - Shamrock Rovers fired manager Liam Buckley on Tuesday, ending an almost three-year union between the two sides.

Buckley agreed with the club on the termination of his contract, effective immediately.

"SRFC wish to thank Liam for all his hard work and commitment over the last two and a half seasons and wish him every success in the future," the club said in a written statement.

The Rovers are currently third from bottom in the Irish Premier League and have dropped their last four matches.
