Buenos Aires, Argentina (World Wide Gamble) - Juan Mercier and Facudo Coria both scored, as Argentinos Juniors defeated Huracan 2-1 on Sunday edge Estudiantes for its first Argentina league title in 25 years. Mercier opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, and Coria doubled the lead in the 83rd. Huracan cut the deficit in half in the 88th, but Argentinos Juniors held on against nine-man Huracan to win the Clausura, its first championship since 1985. Mauro Boselli scored a hat trick for Estudiantes in a 4-1 victory over Colon, but his club finished one point behind Argentinos Juniors. |
