Buenos Aires, Argentina (World Wide Gamble) - Villarreal has allowed Argentinian midfielder Damian Escudero to move to Boca Juniors in his homeland for an undisclosed transfer fee.

The 23-year-old joined the Yellow Submarine from Velez Sarsfield two years ago but he was immediately loaned out to Real Valladolid to gain first-team experience.

Escudero made 15 appearances for Valladolid before returning to Villarreal last summer.

However, he featured in only 13 league games for Villarreal last term and never really had a lengthy run in the first team.

Villarreal have held on to 50 percent of the transfer rights of the player.
